A shield can increase your character’s defense beyond the protection their armor provides. Your character must be wielding a shield in one hand to make use of it, and it grants its bonus to AC only if they use an action to Raise Shield.

Shields are comprised of three stats: AC Bonus: You gain the AC bonus listed on the shield if you previously used the Raise Shield action. Hardness: Hardness acts as damage reduction from incoming attacks. While your shield is raised, reduce the first source of damage you take before the start of your next turn by its hardness dice. Strength Requirement: The strength bonus required to wield the shield

Example Shield: Hide Shield
